David Mihara has joined the Microporous team as Vice President of Technology reporting to CEO Jean-Luc Koch.

In this role, David will be responsible for the companies Research and Development programs to ensure product innovation leading to Microporous’ continued record of growth in the battery separator marketplace.

David comes with over 30 years of experience in the battery industry. The first twenty years were in various engineering and R&D positions in the consumer battery industry with Duracell and Rayovac followed by over ten years in the lead acid field with Exide Technologies and most recently as CTO of NorthStar Battery Co in Missouri. He specializes in product innovation for performance and quality enhancement as well as cost improvement.

David graduated from the University of Surrey, England, with a BS in Materials Engineering. He and his wife of 32 years, Karen, have relocated to Johnson City. Their interests include antiquing, walks in the countryside and listening to a wide range of music.

David is working at Microporous’ headquarter in Piney Flats, Tennessee.
