Jean-Luc Koch, President and CEO of Microporous, took the helm in 2013. He has held previous positions as Director of Sales, Corporate Project Director, and VP of Global Operations, Procurement & Engineering, which has given him critical insight into different aspects of the business within the battery separator industry.
Under Jean-Luc’s leadership, Microporous has seen great team growth, adding new positions to help direct the management and quality of product operations—as well as a brand-new research and development department that will continue to secure and enhance Microporous’ position as a leader in its markets.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Technology of Nancy – France and a master’s degree in international sales of industrial products and services from the Business School of Mulhouse-France.
Bill Brown has led Microporous in the position of CFO since June 2019. Bill has more than 10 years of experience in the separator industry. He was a key part of the team working for the former parent corporation that divested Microporous in 2013. He also served as the CFO for the newly independent Microporous between 2013 to early 2015 and as the Director of Business Development 2018 to 2019. He particular enjoys working with the business partners to enhance financial knowledge across the company. Bill holds an MBA from Crummer Scholl of Business in Winter Park, FL.
Bill is a licensed CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University.
Jim Franklin joined Microporous in early June, 2018. He previously worked as Chief Operating Officer for a leading pharmaceutical packaging manufacturer. He appreciates the power of employee motivation, empowerment, and engagement when coupled with clear manufacturing goals. With over 32 years of global operations experience, Jim’s keen insights into efficient operations management will enhance Microporous’ continual success.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University (Illinois).
David joined Microporous in late January, 2018. He previously worked as Chief Technology Officer for a leading battery manufacturer. David has over 30 years of experience with battery technology. His in-depth knowledge of battery technology has given him an excellent reputation in the industry. Microporous’ R&D department will continue to strive for product innovation.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from Surrey University, UK.
Claudia Lorenzini has joined Microporous Austria in late 2015. She has started her career in the battery industry in early 1996 with world-wide responsibility for the sales of different types of battery separators for the company Jungfer. After 2005 she continued working for Daramic based in Italy being accountable for several important key accounts in Eastern and Western Europe as well as in Middle East. Claudia is responsible to develop, drive and execute Microporous’ strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve the targeted growth objectives and expand market share in EMEA and Asia Pacific. She is the “voice of the customer” working actively on new product development together with the technical team making sure that we remain a customer centric organization following the needs of the market and growing the business together with our customers.
Claudia speaks three languages and is well known in the market and connected with many battery experts and decision makers around the Globe.
Brad Reed joined the Microporous team in September 2019. He held previous leadership positions in the rechargeable battery industry as VP/GM of a leading lithium-ion battery separator supplier, and as EVP of a leading lead-acid battery separator supplier’s parent company. Brad most recently held Business Development and M&A responsibilities for a Performance Materials business. Since joining Microporous, he led the market launch and commercialization of Microporous’ new GlassForce® AGM separator product line.
Brad believes strongly in the importance of advancing promising new innovative ideas to successful implementation through a disciplined project management system and informed decision making. His extensive background and expertise in rechargeable batteries and business development will contribute greatly to the future growth of the company.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University (South Carolina).
