Microporous Products, LP, a global leader in battery separator technology, today announced the signing of an off-take Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with American Battery Factory, Inc. (ABF), developer of the first network of U.S.-based lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) gigafactories.

Under the terms of the agreement, Microporous will supply separator materials for ABF’s LFP battery cell production. The partnership supports ABF’s strategy of building a secure, domestic supply chain for critical components and highlights Microporous’ role as a trusted supplier for high-performance separator technology.

The agreement is designed to align Microporous’ expertise in battery separators with ABF’s mission to establish a scalable, U.S.-made battery ecosystem. By ensuring reliable access to key separator materials, the collaboration strengthens efforts to accelerate domestic clean energy storage solutions and reduce reliance on foreign supply chains.

Piney Flats, TN – July 1, 2025 – Microporous LLC is proud to announce the opening of a new lithium-ion battery separator manufacturing line at its Piney Flats facility, located at 596 Industrial Park Road. This latest expansion represents a significant investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities and the future of clean energy technology.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Tuesday, July 23, and members of the media, local officials, and community partners are invited to attend. The event will include a behind-the-scenes tour of the new production line, highlighting Microporous’ commitment to innovation and sustainability. Guests will also enjoy a catered lunch from a local BBQ favorite.
