Piney Flats, Tennessee
Piney Flats is home to Microporous’ headquarters and a long-established manufacturing operation. Built in 1971, the plant manufactures and distributes lead-acid battery separators and is the company’s only facility producing rubber separators. In the first quarter of 2025, Microporous also began producing ultra-thin, wet-coated polyethylene separators for lithium-ion batteries at the plant.

Danville, Virginia
Microporous is developing a new manufacturing facility at the Southern Virginia Megasite in Danville, Virginia. The facility will produce battery separators for lithium-ion batteries. Microporous’ most recent project update targets production to begin in late 2027, with the facility reaching full capacity in 2028.

Feistritz, Austria
Built in 2008, Microporous’ Feistritz facility focuses on manufacturing lead-acid battery separators. Its location provides convenient access to key European customers while also serving customers in Asia and Africa. The facility operates under certified quality and environmental management systems.
